1992 BMW 325i
Automotive Interior Restoration and Modernization

I love my BMW! And what's more is an engineer with a pride for quality work (like myself) could really lose himself in a project of this magnitude. With that being said, in this restoration project I completed on my 1992 BMW 325i, I single-handedly removed and replaced my car's complete interior. I am not kidding folks, the only two things remaining after the tear-down... electrical wire and metal!

All the parts for this project were recycled from a 1997 BMW 328i. I randomly discover the wrecked 328i on my first visit to a local pull-it-yourself scrap yard. What I hoped to find was a replacement window switch... what I left with was $1,200 of BMW parts! As for that window switch, there were NEIN! So over the next year and a half I studied first-hand the complexity and art of German Engineering. In the end I walked away with a true appreciation for the hard work that goes into manufacturing quality automobiles.

Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications (USA) Inc.Mr. Ken Griffin

Mr. Griffin was my manager from 2004 to 2007 in each of my 3 CO-OP rotations during my time at Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications (SEMC). Mr. Griffin has an outstanding personality, optimism and an incredible work-ethic. He's also had a profound influence on my life as my mentor. I enjoyed learning from him and helping him at any opportunity. During my CO-OP rotations at SEMC I became a significant help in growing the hardware department's CO-OP program in excess of 300% over a three year period. Prior to the end of each of my rotations I volunteered and worked an additional week in order to overlap with the newly-hired CO-OPs coming aboard the following semester. I personally took on this responsibility following the departure of an excellent training instructor that I was fortunate enough to have learned from. I identified a need for such training to be passed on despite his absense and I took responsibility upon myself to fill that need and pass on my valuable knowledge. During these times I successfully trained and helped familiarize 12 new CO-OPs to their new environment at SEMC and brought them up to speed on the current mobile phone platforms being developed. In these efforts I was effective in creating value in the CO-OP program to the company through facilitating a smooth transfer of knowledge to new CO-OPs. As a result my efforts reduced workflow disruptions occuring between CO-OP rotations and additionally made each CO-OP much more valuable to the hardware group and SEMC in the long-term.

ABOUT ME

A BRIEF INTRO ABOUT ME AND MY FAMILY

I was born October 20th, 1983 in Myslenice, Poland. My family refuged Communist Poland in late 1980s and had moved to Germany. Growing up my first spoken language was German and my second language was Polish. When I was about 5 years old we immegrated to America. We arrived and lived in Chicago, IL although very briefly during a very cold Winter. We later moved to Monroe, NC through a charity sponsorship given by Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Monroe, NC. The Church helped my family move and settle, provided us with a home and a car.

In early grade school I was enrolled in English as a second language (ESL) classes in order to pickup the language. When I was in middle school I can recall being very proficient at math. I can remember my excitement to be in one particular class and being so proficient that I was able to help other students understand the material. That didn't last too long as my teacher soon arranged for me to attend academically gifted year-round classess while I attended school on a traditional schedule. The new classess were not quite as easy.

My parents became U.S. citizens through the naturalization process in the 1990s and as a result both me and my brother became automatic U.S. Citizens. Besides for my immediate family living here in the States, most of my relatives, such as my grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins are still living in Poland.
